About me

When I was 20 years old, I got signed off work for two weeks with stress.

The first thing the doctor did was offer me antidepressants.

Then and there, I realised that there had to be a better way.

Don’t you just hate ‘About me’ pages? Where people reel off  how great they are and all the things they’ve done…

Unfortunately, if you read my stuff or are interested in working with me, eventually you’re going to get a little bit curious about where I actually come from so here’s a little bit about me:

I’ve had a few challenging times in my life, but when a doctor offered to prescribe me antidepressants after a five minute consultation at twenty years of age, I realised there had to be a better, more holistic way of dealing with life.

I think everyone should be able to move past their hang-ups and head out for their dreams; be that going for a promotion, moving to a new place, starting a completely new venture or just feeling comfortable going to their local and getting a beer. I started yoga when I was 19 and through it I have found strength, confidence, comfort and wisdom. Over the years I’ve practised more and studied more and now I use my combination of hypnotherapy, NLP, yoga and counselling techniques to really help people get to that place in their life where they are doing what they want on their own terms – living life without regrets.

I hold a degree in Human Resource Management, and worked successfully in HR for five years before retraining in therapy. I am also a full member of the CIPD (professional body for people working in business psychology fields), a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society and the National Counselling Society. I have worked with clients and coaches in the UK, Italy, the USA and Australia, including consultants at PwC and Project Workers at Barnardos, and the buzz it gives me to see people moving forward is pretty awesome!

I have comprehensive training in hypnotherapy and a diploma in integrative psychotherapeutic counselling. I’m also a qualified yoga teacher. I have developed my own way of helping people overcome confidence issues, stress and anxiety using a variety of techniques developed using my own experience of what works. These include using focused hypnotherapy and NLP for a quick fix solution, coupled with counselling, yoga and psychotherapeutic techniques to make long-term lasting changes so you get the best of both worlds.

Basically, I want people to feel good about themselves and I seem to be able to help people do that, which makes me feel pretty darn good about myself, so wins all round :-)
